Prevent personnel expansion, increase availability, reduce critical incident rate, greater security.

Challenges and associated costs:

The company was in the process of implementing Click&DECiDE NSI solution, but was not yet in production.
They actually experienced a network & security incident during that process.

The incident caused a heavy overhead all across the network, significantly downgrading the quality and
availability of it, hence dramatically lowering the response time of their internal applications.

They did use their then current tools to investigate, looking at each Firewall’s, Proxy’s, IP’s, and Content
Analysis applications management console. They had to mobilize 4 people, and it took them the more than
one full day to identify, understand, and find out the exact cause of the problem. Once identification
completed, it took a few minutes to fix it.

Gains, added value, and ROI:

They immediately decided to take the opportunity and check how the new Click&DECiDE solution would have
managed to help.

They simply described the problem to the engineer in charge of the deployment, and asked him to find out the
exact cause of the problem.

It took less than 15mn to that engineer to identify the real source of the incident, and to measure the impact of
the overhead against standard performance.

Hard benefit: saving of around 500 k€ over a 3 year period for that issue only.

Time to pay back: less than 10 months
